A young doctor from Belgrade received the most prestigious award in Serbia in the field of ophthalmology and biotechnology for the development of an innovative drug that can restore vision at any age.

This spring, at the European Congress of Ophthalmologists, held in Serbia, an event took place that shocked the entire scientific world. People in the audience stood and applauded the young man who was on stage for 10 minutes. It was the young doctor Petar Adamović. He proposed to use a completely new approach in the treatment of eye diseases. Its unique formula is able to restore vision and prevent blindness at any age.
Petar presented a non-trivial approach to restoring vision, which enabled him to win a grant for the production of this drug, which was later implemented by some of the best scientific experts in Serbia. Journalist: Petre considers you one of the most ambitious young scientists in the world. Tell us how you came up with the idea to make a medicine that restores vision?
Thanks for the kind words. But to be honest, it's for my family. The motivation is very personal, because a few years ago, due to progressive cataracts and improperly prescribed treatment, my mother lost her sight completely. We visited many different private clinics. Doctors prescribed drugs that only worsened the situation. With each passing day, my mother's eyesight only worsened. My mom then had an eye operation, but a week before the operation, the doctors said that the vision was deteriorating due to the lack of normal blood supply to the lens of the eye. This meant that the operation would not be able to do anything more in this case. In the end, due to the wasted time and the negligence of the doctor, My mother became blind.
The scariest thing is that my grandmother also lost her sight for the same reason. Once again, the doctors could do nothing but prescribe a lot of useless drugs. This was a real shock for me, after which I decided to study the problems of blindness due to various eye diseases. I was shocked when I realized that most drugs in pharmacies are useless chemical compounds that cause irreparable damage to the body. My mother and grandmother used such drugs daily, which only accelerated the development of their disease.
In three years, I delved deeper into this topic and thought why not try to create a drug that is truly safe for the body and an effective product that can help people suffering from vision loss and eye diseases. During the writing of my dissertation, I developed a preparation with a balanced composition that combines effective herbal components and is chemical-free. I felt that I had created something completely new, unlike what the world currently has. I could not have thought that it would arouse such interest in various medical structures and institutions.
Journalist: What difficulties did you have to face?
After defending the thesis, the best scientific associates and scientists in our country were engaged in further development and clinical trials of my drug. I will say one thing, the trials exceeded all our expectations, rumors about my invention spread at an incredible speed. And you know, as soon as my method of restoring sight became known in Europe, I immediately began to receive offers to sell the formula of my invention. A pharmaceutical holding from Germany offered 1.5 million euros, and the French offered three million. I was bombarded with offers to buy every day, I literally almost went crazy. That's why I had to change my phone number, remove my profile from social networks, so that representatives of pharmaceutical companies can't find me.
Journalist: I understand that you haven't sold the formula of your medicine?
Yes, that's right, I haven't sold it and I won't sell it. It may sound a bit harsh, but it's my life's work. I invested so much in development not to make pharmaceutical companies rich overnight. What do you think will happen if I sell the formula? Private companies will get a patent for this drug and raise prices or stop production of this drug altogether, because it is not profitable to sell a drug that can really help people. It is much more profitable for private companies to sell the fog so that more people will buy useless drugs at high prices. The pharmaceutical industry has long been the biggest business in the world. I'm quite young, but I'm not stupid. In the case of selling my formula, the citizens of our country who suffer from vision loss in this case are simply doomed. A scientist from the European Scientific Institute told me that my medicine should cost no less than 3000 dollars. Here is the answer to the question why pharmaceutical companies need my medicine - to make millions. And, do you think that many people in Serbia could buy it at the price?
So, when I received an offer from a research institute to jointly develop a drug for the domestic market, I immediately accepted it. I also collaborated with the research center for ophthalmology in Belgrade. It's an amazing experience for me. Currently, the phase of clinical trials is over and the drug is available to the general public.
My goal is that people with low incomes can easily get this drug and it is guaranteed to restore their sight without relying on other drugs, expensive eye surgery, glasses or lenses.

Journalist: Dr. Savić, what is the secret of Petar Adamović's medicine? Does this medicine really help restore vision at any age?
Peter's idea is a completely new approach to the treatment of eye and visual diseases, even in hereditary diseases. Today, experts know well that all pharmaceutical products can help only in the early stages. In addition, the patient is often given many drugs initially, which only delays the inevitable. And as soon as a person loses his sight, he is immediately sent for surgery, which in itself becomes meaningless. For private doctors, I'm not talking about all of them, but most of them are not trying to cure patients, they want to make as much money as possible from them, that's it.
In the early 2000s, scientists noticed that 90% of vision problems occur for only one reason — insufficient blood flow to the eyeball, which feeds the lens, sclera and cornea with essential substances. If we remove this root cause, we can almost completely eliminate expensive eye surgery.
The working principle of the medicine developed by Petar activates the work of the pillmaker and helps regulate blood flow in the eyes. This guarantees the complete disappearance of the risk of blindness in the initial stage of the disease. But it is difficult to cure the severe stages when it comes to total blindness. Therefore, the efforts of a large number of doctors and health workers were needed to improve the composition of the drug, so that this drug can deal with the most severe forms of vision loss.
